Almost an alum.

Frannie started a blog last week, which made me think about that blog I used to have a few years ago... And then i found it. It is has been quite some time since I have last written in it. Jeez. The last entry being the summer after sophomore year, and here i am about to graduate in a few weeks. Hard to believe. Everyone always told me college would go by so fast, and at times I didn't believe it. But now, about to graduate and figuring out who i am going to get all my stuff home, I realize it indeed did fly by!!!

This weekend was Father/Daughter Dance (Saturday) and I don't think i have ever had so much fun dancing. Dad was a hoot- and by far the best dancer out there! We went out to eat with Tiff, Alyssa, and their parents before and then headed to the dance after. Dad was showing his polka moves on more than one occasion. He was a little "stiff" Sunday morning, but to be truthful, so was I :) Sunday we drove to Cheesecake Factory in the Cities and ate dinner with Ben's parents and his little sister, Allie. After a year of dating, our parents have finally met. It was fun, not awkward, like one could have anticipated.

I have a lot to do before graduation- nursing presentation, finish my clinical hours, start packing, start studying for the NCLEX, military ball, pinestock, etc... So i will be busy to say the least!

Today at PT Maj Errington asked me, "MaryAlice can you believe you have less than a month before graduation?" And like i said before, the time sure did fly by. I have grown, individually, met some lifelong friends, had countless breakdowns and fits regarding classes, swore i was never going to get into nursing school, and then estactic when i did. Traveled tons- Alaska, Tanzania, Lake Tahoe, Disneyworld, Montana, Washington State and D.C. I've had great clinical experiences where I have met great patients who have taught me so much about one day being a great nurse. Worked a summer camp in Maine and loved every minute being the canoeing instructor, even if the girls would rather sail and windsurf! I completed LDAC (army training camp), which was the longest 30 days of my whole life. I had an intership at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in D.C. where I learned more in 3 weeks than ever before.

So while graduation is bittersweet, I can believe that graduation is almost here. I have done so much these past four years, and while there tons more I wish I had time to do, I am content with where I stand. So, with less than a month left, I am going to take it easy. Be a little less uptight and enjoy the rest of my time as a college kid.
